Our JATC

The West Michigan Electrical JATC was founded in 1967. Originally based in Muskegon County, IBEW Local 275 expanded after merging with IBEW Local 107 (Grand Rapids area) in 1996, unifying service across West Michigan counties, including Muskegon, Ottawa, Kent (Grand Rapids), and neighboring areas.

Our Inside Wireman Apprenticeship is a four-year program that includes a minimum of 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and more than 720 hours of classroom instruction. Most apprentices start by completing at least 1,000 hours as a Construction Wireman, giving them the chance to gain hands-on experience and demonstrate their skills before advancing into the Inside Wireman program.

School is once every other week, starting in late August going through to early June.  Tuition and books are provided.  All classes are held at the JATC Training Center.
